Fareportal has been an amazing organization to work with. I took the opportunity with this organization as a project manager because I was excited for the opportunity to get back to the days of rolling my sleeves up and turning these products around. I work with an amazing team that is both collaborative and determined, going above and beyond to make these products a success. I have been able to recruit and mentor great product leaders teaching them to be proactive and understanding data (not a hunch or belief) is the true measure if you are onto something. In no time, I was made Director of Product.

  • Created and launched new product within 7 days during the pandemic to appeal to the domestic audience including designs, newsletters, white labels, landing pages, SEO, push notification social media and new booking pages. 
  • Realized 26% YOY revenue growth by revamping car product from UI redesign to expanded product offerings.
  • Boosted conversion rates of vacation packages 25% and increased bookings approximately 15%.
  • Increased Sprint execution rate approximately 95% by restructuring Agile engineering process.
  • Reduced hotel fraud to less than 1% through implementation of fraud protection program.
  • Improved page speeds by approximately one second; implemented caching, improved server response times, optimized images, and performed rigorous A/B testing.

Abarbato Consulting Inc.

Exploring consulting opportunities is something I always considered. When I left ABG, I was asked by the Avis Franchise Association to guide them on an initiative that had been discussed for 40 years but never initiated. Through brainstorming sessions with over 10 franchise owners, a database was born.  In between, I traveled across the country to conduct Management training sessions for franchises that wanted to develop their leaders.  

  • Developed plan and leading strategic initiatives for franchise association to improve client processes.
  • Led brainstorming sessions to prioritize, establish and manage client projects to meet budgets, quality standards and timelines.
  • Created RFP and selected vendors to build database and invoicing process to facilitate billing from franchisee to corporation – most significant progress in 40-year history; Organization identified over 500K in potential billing discrepancies in 2018 implementation.
  • Identified and resolved issues critical to client’s strategic and operational success. Developed management training program to teach leaders effective planning and methods for operating business – roll out in North Dakota has resulted in increased utilization of fleet and 3% revenue increase.

Avis Budget Group

Avis Budget Group was a remarkable organization to work for with remarkable team members. My early years at ABG laid the ground work for me to understand operations and the expectations of both the leisure and corporate customer.  This experience allowed me to collaborate on global strategic initiatives that had a direct impact on the customer experience and employee satisfaction while reducing costs and increasing revenue contributions.

  • Vital contributor partnering cross-functionally with Microsoft to build the first-generation mobile platform enabling self-service rentals and connected cars – 300,000 clients registered for Avis Now since 2016; more than 3/4 of the fleet is now connected.
  • Designed first-ever automated “Voice of the Licensee” survey system, resulting in seven-point annual improvement since 2014 launch through strategic initiatives executed in response to survey results.
  • Built first-generation automated prototype for royalty submissions replacing manual payment process; expected to reduce lost revenue by $3M annually.
  • Orchestrated global franchise convention, designed, and built an event application enabling 200 guests to register, and secured vendor sponsorship covering 95% of convention costs.
  • Led implementation of a multi-channel, customer-valued “Loyalty Program” and CRM that delivered on a differentiated loyalty program for each brand resulting in over 1.15 million customers earning loyalty points.
  • Sponsored by Avis to participate in global women’s conference that included women from Fortune 500 companies. Collaborated with colleagues and defined rental solution that contributed $10M in revenue.
